BARDONECCHIA Chaffaux - Vernets

At the intersection of Via Modane and Via Pra d'la Cumba in Borgo Vecchio, cross the Ponte Madonna delle Grazie and take the flat path that runs alongside the Rio Frejus. After passing the stable, continue to a notice board dedicated to tadpoles and hemp located near a pool of water. At the fork, keep left, cross the wooden bridge, reach the next fork and continue to the right until reaching the mule track that climbs to the Grange Chaffaux. To close the loop, briefly retrace your steps and take the left detour to the Grange Vernets and then descend along the dirt road that returns to the starting point.

In case of high avalanche danger, it is not recommended to undertake any excursion.

The indicated trails are tracked exclusively by foot traffic: no mechanical maintenance or grooming service, daily or periodic, is provided.

The difficulty rating indicated in each route may vary depending on snow cover conditions.

By car:

- A32 Motorway Turin - Bardonecchia, Bardonecchia exit

- State Road 24: Turin - Oulx and then State Road 335: Oulx - Bardonecchia

Once you reach Bardonecchia head towards Borgovecchio and reach the Ponte Madonna delle Grazie situated between Via Tur d'Amun and Via Pra d'la Cumba.

By train:

- line Turin Porta Nuova - Bardonecchia

Once you reach Bardonecchia:

- from Hotel La Betulla (100 m from the train station) take the free shuttle of Circular 2 to Piazza Suspize and continue on foot to the intersection between Via Modane and Via Cavour;

- from Hotel La Betulla (100 m from the train station) take the free shuttle of Line 4 to the intersection of Via Modane and Via Cavour.

At the intersection of Via Tur d'Amun and Via Pra d'la Cumba beyond the Ponte Madonna delle Grazie there is a dirt parking area where it is possible to park.

Visit at Chaffaux the Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The chapel features some fine frescoes both outside and inside dating back to the 15th century.
