“Necki” lives in Mogelsberg and loves to play in the Steinwäldli. The “Petri” from St.Peterzell loves swimming in the Necker. The Hemberg “Hucky” has his favourite playground in the Salomonstempel raised bog, and “Bobo” from Brunnadern lives in the rustic Choltobel. The fifth is the noble “Tibby,” who resides at the Neutoggenburg ruin near Oberhelfenschwil. Visiting the forest animals and finding their playgrounds from the Necki book is worthwhile.
On the Neckiweg through the Neckertal, both big and small hikers will find relaxation and fun. The Neckiplätze invite you to rest or play. Cone shooting competitions, damming water or building bridges, weaving flower wreaths, collecting fragrant herbs – or keeping an eye out for the Neckis.
You can get the picture book for CHF 28.00 at Toggenburg Tourism or from Maja Meyer-Böhm at www.mmb.ch.
The path begins with the ascent to Wasserfluh, where the trail continues to the Neutoggenburg ruin. The somewhat steep climb is rewarded with a great panoramic view of the old mountain ruin. Shortly afterwards, the Neckiplatz offers a place to rest. The route then passes by former residences of the Counts of Toggenburg until reaching the village center in Oberhelfenschwil.
