This Œnovélo loop takes you into the heart of the wine-growing and natural landscapes of the Hérault valley. Departing from Gignac, the route winds through vineyards, olive groves and Mediterranean forests, offering both a sporting and contemplative experience.
From the very first kilometers, the route skirts the emblematic vineyards of the Hérault valley, offering remarkable panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides. As you pass through Aniane, you'll discover its heritage and authentic atmosphere, before reaching the Maison du Grand Site du Pont du Diable, a must-see regional landmark.
The return journey to Gignac takes you along a secure greenway. Alternating between country roads, vineyard paths and wooded areas, this loop combines discovery of the region, immersion in nature and cycling pleasure on an accessible and varied itinerary.

            1
The route starts in Gignac, in front of the tourist office. After a short passage through a traffic circle, it takes Boulevard du Moulin, where a slight descent leads to the police station. Continuing on Avenue Maréchal Foch, it is necessary to remain vigilant due to traffic. Then, after crossing the artisanal zone, the path runs alongside a number of shops before reaching the traffic circle decorated with an olive tree, marking the exit from Gignac.

From here, the route continues on the Chemin des Rouires, winding between vineyards and wooded areas. Far from the hustle and bustle, the atmosphere becomes peaceful, punctuated by rustling leaves and birdsong. This passage offers a moment of calm and nature, before the first remarkable landmark appears: the church of Saint-Martin de Carcarès, discreetly nestled among the vines, watching over the surrounding land. Further on, the trail reaches Mas de Navas, where vineyards give way to olive trees, whose leaves quiver in the breeze, adding a Mediterranean touch to the landscape.
3
Continuing on, the path passes several renowned wineries in exceptional surroundings. The air is infused with the scent of earth and grapes, and depending on the season, the sight of sun-gilded vines lends the area a striking beauty. It then offers an unobstructed view of the Hérault valley, revealing an undulating landscape where light plays with relief, marking a new stage in the journey.
4
Arrival in Aniane is via the Route de la Boissière, which gradually leads into the heart of the village. As you pass the first houses, the atmosphere becomes more animated, with the gentle echo of terrace discussions and the warm tones of the facades reminding you of the authenticity of the place.
5
Continuing northwards, the loop passes the Grand Site du Pont du Diable house, where the Hérault flows below, inviting you to take a contemplative break before returning to Aniane.
6
For a safe return to Gignac, take the cycle path along the D32. To get there, it is necessary to cross the Les Treilles business park, which allows you to join the cycle path in a safe and fluid way.
7
The return to Gignac takes tree-lined paths. Progress is smooth through these rural landscapes. The finish line is a smooth one, with the town's historic lanes marking the end of a route rich in discoveries, sensations and varied panoramas.
