Rabastens, a brick town overlooking the Tarn, was an important river port in the Middle Ages frequented by pilgrims. The Church of Notre-Dame du Bourg, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela, bears witness to this past. Also worth visiting is the Musée du Pays Rabastinois.
Starting from Auzerals Lake, at the fisherman's hut, you begin on the dam and the right bank. To warm up, you head up towards the mill, pass by the Guidal church, and descend towards Rabastens. At the village exit, you ride to the Saint-Géry castle. You then turn to head towards the hills on a path bordering fields. You cross the small hamlet of Bessède and then Saint Martin. Before reaching the vineyards, you climb up to the ridge to overlook the Tarn Valley and finish with a descent back to the lake.
