Beacon It. 6 - Conca Montozzo

The First World War has left many testimonies in the Lombard mountain areas: especially here, in the Stelvio National Park, where fighting took place. Fascinating places where the beauty of natural scenery sharply contrasts with the tragedy of the events that happened there. To enhance this priceless heritage, the Lombardy Region (DG Autonomy and Culture) entrusted ERSAF, with the scientific collaboration of the White War Museum, with a project to promote the Lombard heritage of the Great War. The first tangible result of the project was the creation of themed trails made using innovative and zero-impact technologies on the landscape. The six proposed experiential itineraries allow you to visit in a new, engaging, and interactive way some stretches of the Italo-Austrian front and learn about the war events that occurred between 1915 and 1918 on the mountains of the Stelvio National Park. Thanks to technology accessible to everyone, it is now possible to encounter fragments of history and nature, notice subtle details, and look around even taking a step back in time. Through the Near app, with your smartphone, you can listen, thanks to the voice of actor and writer Giuseppe Cederna, to the historical and environmental description of the places and the story of the events.
