The Evoissons (Loop A)

The Les Evoissons river is a river in the Somme and one of the tributaries of the Selle, which itself is a tributary of the Somme. Its course is only 25.4 kilometers, and it joins the Selle in the commune of Conty.
You will take small green roads crossing the villages named below on two fairly easy short routes that can form a figure eight. Poix is nestled in greenery. The beautiful 16th-century church in flamboyant style has important sculpted pendentive vault keys. It was perfectly restored after suffering significant damage during the 1940 bombings. A staircase overlooking the houses built along the former RN29 allows a view from above of the town. Louis Aragon well described this place in his historical novel The Holy Week by placing a meeting of conspirators in the small wood adjacent to the church and the cemetery.
