An idyllic trail leads from the village through the forest to Maran and makes many hearts beat faster along the way. Squirrels and birds are very tame and will eat directly from your hand. Over 1.7 km, you can observe and study the cute animals. Information boards with child-friendly puzzles convey exciting knowledge about the forest inhabitants. Near the end of the trail, a large barbecue area awaits you. Arosa Tourism offers an exciting puzzle booklet about the Eichhörnliweg.

The path leads almost exclusively through the forest. Although the sun's rays occasionally break through gaps between the fir branches, it is somewhat cooler there than in the full sun. Of course, the hike is also a good option for bad weather.
Weather-appropriate clothing is recommended.
Arosa strives to provide hikers with a well-developed and marked hiking trail network. Please adhere to the rules and signs. You will find more helpful tips under the hiking information.
Follow the road signs from Chur to Arosa. Since there are no parking spaces available at the start of the Eichhörnliweg, it is recommended to use the Ochsenbühl parking garage or Obersee parking lot instead.
From Chur, the Rhaetian Railway runs hourly to Arosa and back. The Eichhörnliweg starts only a few hundred meters above the station.
For the return journey from Maran, you can either walk along the road or take the local bus (Maran stop) and be comfortably chauffeured back to the station.
At the entrance to the village of Arosa, you will find a large parking information board.
It is recommended to park in the Ochsenbühl parking garage or at the Obersee parking lot. These are located about 200m from the station and also right next to a bus stop. Further information on parking can be found here.
