Good hiking shoes with good tread, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket), possibly change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, food, possibly hiking poles.
The route is safe to walk. Only at the Schwarzenstein castle ruin is the access (secured with a railing) a bit narrow and close to the edge. Surefootedness is required here.
