"Grands Crus" Bike Route

Follow EuroVelo 5 via Mittelbergheim, Andlau, Itterswiller and Nothalten until you reach Blienschwiller.

Blienschwiller

At the entrance to Blienschwiller, leave the path through the vineyards and join the D35 (Wine Route).

At the next junction, turn left to continue on the D35 (Wine Route).

After leaving the village, take the path on the right to leave the D35 and head towards Dambach-la-Ville through the vineyards (via EuroVelo 5).

Dambach-la-Ville

After the Notre-Dame chapel, turn right onto the D35 to enter Dambach-la-Ville.

After the fortified gate, turn right onto Rue du Général de Gaulle.

Once you reach the Place du Marché, keep left to rejoin the D35.

Retrace your steps to return to Blienschwiller and cross the village again. Just before the exit, turn right to continue following EuroVelo 5 and reach Nothalten via this route, as on the outward journey.

At the crossroads on leaving the village, turn right towards Epfig and continue through the vineyards.

Epfig

You will arrive in Epfig via the vineyards. Once in the village, turn right onto Rue de Nothalten, then left to follow Chemin Oberwald.

Turn left again onto Rue des Acacias, before crossing the road and following Rue du Stade to return to the vineyards.

Saint-Pierre

Cross the D98 and follow Rue du Lusthausel opposite.

Cross the D142.

After the church, turn left onto Rue des Erables.

From Saint-Pierre to Barr

Follow the green signposts to the junction at Barr station.

After the level crossing, continue to the right.

- Make sure the bike is in perfect mechanical condition, including tires and brakes

- Make sure the bike is well adjusted to your body shape

- Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended

- Bring a repair kit

- Remember that the Highway Code applies to cyclists at all times

- Never ride more than two abreast and ride in single file when traffic conditions require it

- Respect other road users as you would like them to respect you

- Choose a route adapted to your physical abilities

- Inform those close to you of your itinerary

- Check the weather conditions

- A first aid kit is not essential but can be very useful

- Find out and keep the emergency phone numbers.

- Respect the environment by not throwing food wrappers on the side of the road

- If you have to return at nightfall, make sure you can see and be seen

The proposed routes have been studied to be as safe as possible. It is up to cyclists to respect the road signs and the Highway Code.

From Strasbourg and Colmar: exit 12 of the A 35 motorway, direction Barr

The circuit is accessible by train:

- Barr station (180 m from the circuit)

- Epfig station (550 m)

- Dambach-la-Ville station (900 m)

- Eichhoffen station
