Between Sun and Vineyards - Chiopris Viscone - 10,000 Steps for Health, FVG

A loop trail of about 8 km that starts at the rest area near the municipal library and winds through farmland, vineyards, and the historic villages of Chiopris and Viscone. Following the Versa–Judrio bike and walking path, you’ll pass a small restored fountain on your right, then cross the road to admire vineyards lined with cypress trees.

You’ll reach the 13th-century Sanctuary of the Madonna di Strada and walk a short stretch of the ancient Roman road that led from Aquileia to Cividale del Friuli. In the center of Viscone, you’ll come across the Church of San Zenone (1500) with frescoes by Giulio Justulin; then continue toward Chiopris along the bank of the Torre Stream, passing through vineyards and kiwi orchards.

The route continues along Via Versa, crosses the Medea provincial road, passes through a small wooded area, and follows the Judrio River bank upstream to reach the village of Borg da Ocjs, home to Palazzo Brunner. You pass through Piazza De Senibus, in front of City Hall, and reach the Church of St. Michael the Archangel (1200), featuring a statue of the Mater Dolorosa. The route weaves together history, the rural environment, and the typical agricultural landscape.
