Cammino delle Pievi della Carnia Stage 20 From Piano di Arta Terme to San Pietro – Imponzo

From the affiliated accommodation in Piano di Arta Terme, follow the S.S. 52 bis, take the right descent after the bridge over the Rio Radina and follow the road up to the football field. From here, follow the path (CAI 162 trail marker) that leads to the "Plan da Vincule" below the Basilica of S. Pietro.

From S. Pietro, return to the "Plan da Vincule" and follow a mule track on the left to descend to the nearby little church of “S. Maria in Monte.” After the fork, continue left following the signs for the "Troì di S. Pieri" to descend to Zuglio. After crossing the bridge over the But stream, follow the SS 52 bis to the right to reach Imponzo and Cjase Emmaus.

Before exploring the spa and the parish church of S. Pietro, visit the churches of S. Niccolò ad Alzeri and the Santo Spirito, also called the "Re Magi." To reach the ecumenical centre "La Polse di Cougnes," which includes a botanical garden and an astronomical observatory, return to the "Plan da Vincule" and head uphill for about 300 meters along the road.
