Discover the perfect combination of idyll and enjoyment on the bike route into the Tauber Valley. Enjoy the picturesque landscape along the meandering Tauber through the valley. From the Tauber mouth into the Main, you pass river meadows, small villages, and gentle hills to Tauberbischofsheim. Let yourself be enchanted by the history and culture of the valley with its surrounding vineyards and stunning views.
The varied and well-signposted route on the 5-star cycling path is equally suitable for cyclists and families and is full of unforgettable moments.

Signage: E4
The starting point of the bike route is the "Spitze Turm", just a few meters from the "Tourist Information". Turn left, cross the Tauber bridge, and immediately on the other side of the river turn left into "Hämmelsgasse"; from there straight ahead. On the entire route, the signs "The Classic - Lovely Tauber Valley" and the "E4" signpost are important guides.
Accompanied by the railway line and the gentle Tauber, you pass Waldenhausen, the campsite of Reicholzheim, and cross the small bridge at the "Lachenquelle". After a short climb, it goes downhill quickly - and before you cycle straight ahead past Bronnbach station, take a detour over the historic Tauber bridge to Bronnbach Monastery. Not only the orangery and the herb garden, but especially the monastery church with Bernhard and Joseph altars are worthwhile sights. Enjoy the shady cloister or take a small wine tasting in the vinothek.
In the next town, Gamburg Castle majestically overlooks the Tauber and invites you to visit (open on weekends).
Then on to Niklashausen. Especially for historians, a detour to the Pfeifferhannes Museum is recommended.
Now you go via Werbach and Hochhausen to Tauberbischofsheim. This town became famous mainly because of its "goldsmiths" for épée, sabre, and foil fencers, who won countless medals at the Olympic Games.
The return journey after strolling through the town follows the same route or alternatively by train to Wertheim.
