Traditional chapels paired with a modern barefoot labyrinth

You start your tour in the chapel of the St. Raphael senior citizens' centre. The chapel in the St. Raphael senior citizens' centre was completed in 1975.

You walk out onto the street. Turn left and follow Schottenbühlstraße to the beginning. You join Waldauer Straße by keeping to the left and reach the cycle path. Follow it to the right over the bridge, past the roundabout to the junction with Jostalstraße. You can already see your next destination ahead of you, St Leonhard's Chapel. St Leonard's Chapel dates back to 1741 and people still go there on Stag Monday (the first Monday after Ash Wednesday). This pilgrimage, which also takes place in St Peter's or Lenzkirch, for example, goes back to a cattle plague, the so-called deer disease, which raged in the Upper Black Forest in the years before 1800.

Leave the Leonhardskapelle and walk along Jostalstraße to the Heliosklinik and its chapel.

In the clinic park, if you walk to the right of the clinic and along the car park, you will come to the barefoot labyrinth.

Sie beginnen Ihren Rundgang in der Kapelle des Seniorenzentrums St. Raphael. Die Kapelle im Seniorenzentrum St. Raphael wurde 1975 fertiggestellt.

Sie gehen auf die Straße hinaus. Sie biegen links ab und folgen der Schottenbühlstraße bis zum Anfang. Sie erreichen die Waldauer Straße, indem Sie sich links halten und erreichen den Radweg. Diesem folgen Sie nach rechts über die Brücke, vorbei am Kreisverkehr bis zur Einmündung in die Jostalstraße. Hier sehen Sie bereits Ihr nächstes Ziel, die St. Leonhardskapelle, vor sich. Die Leonhardskapelle stammt aus dem Jahr 1741 und wird auch heute noch am Junggesellenmontag (dem ersten Montag nach Aschermittwoch) aufgesucht. Diese Wallfahrt, die auch z.B. in St. Peter oder Lenzkirch stattfindet, geht auf eine Viehseuche, die sogenannte Hirschkrankheit, zurück, die in den Jahren vor 1800 im Hochschwarzwald wütete.

Verlassen Sie die Leonhardskapelle und gehen Sie die Jostalstraße entlang zur Heliosklinik und ihrer Kapelle.

Wenn Sie im Klinikpark rechts an der Klinik vorbei und am Parkplatz entlang gehen, kommen Sie zum Barfußlabyrinth.
