Cross-country skiing has its stronghold in Le Grand-Bornand with 2 sites combining 81.9 km of trails on which Roddy Darragon and Sylvie Becaert, Olympic medalists, trained from an early age.
One extends from Grand-Bornand Village (where the biathlon world cup events take place) to the Bouchet valley and the second is located on the heights of Grand-Bornand Chinaillon.
Take the opportunity to learn cross-country skiing with the Nordic ESF!
Wild, populated by snow-covered spruce trees and cozy chalets huddled under the snowflakes, the Nordic area unrolls its 74.5 km of perfectly maintained slopes and accessible by 3 entrance gates (Le Grand-Bornand Village, Les Plans and Lormay at the Auberge Nordique) which will allow you to discover a setting combining nature, skiing, heritage and agricultural life.
It is strongly recommended that beginners start from Les Plans or Lormay in the Bouchet valley, sectors which offer more suitable slope profiles. The start from the village with its rising profile is more demanding. Shuttles (every 30 minutes) provide the connection from the village.
Every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (from 22.12 to 30.03), the cross-country ski trails (from Plans to Lormay) are accessible at night, with a headlamp.
