The route starts at the parking lot in front of the historic monastery complex St. Peter and Paul in the Calw district of Hirsau. Before or after the route it is worthwhile to explore the monastery and the adjacent hunting lodge with a guided monastery tour or on your own and to immerse yourself in the history of the significant place of worship. From the parking lot at the monastery, first pass the red deer enclosure. Continue on narrow paths through the valley, crossing the babbling stream several times. A small detour is worthwhile to the stone bridge - a great spot for a souvenir photo. Then continue up through the idyllic Schweinbach Valley. We make a short loop before reaching Oberreichenbach. From here, continue through the village, then through the fragrant forest full of spruces and pines downhill. Wide forest paths and great trails alternate wonderfully in this section. At the end, the route passes the red deer enclosure again before returning to the monastery parking lot.

Motorway A8 from Karlsruhe: Exit Pforzheim-West (approximately 30 km); continue via federal road 463 towards Calw-Hirsau
Motorway A8 from Ulm/Stuttgart: Exit Leonberg (approximately 25 km), continue via federal road 295 towards Weil der Stadt to Calw-Hirsau
Motorway A81 from south / Lake Constance: Exit Gärtringen town center (approximately 20 km), continue via K 1075; near Deckenpfronn at the roundabout take the first exit and continue on B 296 towards Calw. Then continue on federal road 463 to reach Calw-Hirsau.

Arrival by train:
Route Pforzheim - Calw - Horb - Tübingen (culture train).
Long-distance train connections (EC, IC, ICE) are best reached in Karlsruhe with connecting trains via Pforzheim (culture train) to Calw, stop Hirsau.
If arriving via Stuttgart, we recommend continuing with the S-Bahn S6 Stuttgart - Weil der Stadt with transfer to bus line 670 to Calw.
From the central bus station Calw (ZOB), take the culture train to Calw-Hirsau, stop Hirsau.

Greater Stuttgart area bus line 670 DB Bahn Regiobus / Volz; (Calw-Weil der Stadt) connection to S6
Area Böblingen / Sindelfingen: bus line 763 DB Bahn Regiobus; Calw-Böblingen (connection to S1)
From the central bus station Calw (ZOB), you can reach Hirsau with bus lines 670, 680 or 820, stop St. Aurelius or stop Monastery. You can also reach Hirsau with the culture train from ZOB Calw, exit: stop Hirsau.
