In the state-approved health resort Frauenwald am Rennsteig winter lovers will find a wide range of hiking and skiing trails. There is something for everyone to enjoy the beautiful winter landscape on the cross-country ski trail around Frauenwald or more leisurely on the ski trails. On the winter hiking trails you can enjoy wonderful views of the winter landscape. For children you will find a toboggan run directly at the entrance of the village.

Every year in January/February a breath of Alaska moves into the village. Because Frauenwald is the venue of a sled dog race.
