What a day! The X OVER RIDE at the Kitzsteinhorn in the region of Zell am See-Kaprun again was a legendary contest with high-class riders, 1100 Qualifier points and a home victory on top of it. Freeskier Stefanie Noppinger from Salzburg defended her title within the ski ladies field. Manuela Mandl continued her victory-series within the snowboarders. Among the male skiers, Konstantin Ottner from Germany triumphed. Tyrolean Clemens Bergmann secured the top podium within the snowboarders.

When the X OVER RIDE is on, the sky is usually deep blue and spring-shredding at its best is offered in the contest face called ‘Lakarschneid’. High temperatures have been working on the snow conditions and therefore challenged the riders. They had to be very creative to convince the judges. Above all, Stefanie Noppinger successfully defended her title from last year, ‘I am very happy that I got the wildcard from the organizers. I've never been as nervous as I was today. I wanted to go a similar line as last year, and managed to do so, it was madness,’ Noppinger stated. Second came the Viennese Claudia Klobasa, in front of Megane Bettend from France.

Within the snowboard ladies Manuela Mandl secured another victory at the Kitzsteinhorn. The Viennese defended her title from the previous year and celebrated her fifth victory on the qualifier tour, ‘I have never expected it today. The conditions were very difficult and hard to appraise. The Kitzsteinhorn in the spring is very special.’ Second place went to Mikaela Hollsten (FIN), third place to Bettina Pickl from Innsbruck.

‘Mr. Backflip’ succeeded within the male skiers
The German Konstantin Ottner hold tribute to his nick-name ‘Mr. Backflip’: Ottner started with a ‘360’, then showed a massive backflip and continued his point-hunting-run in the lower part of the face. ‘Finally, a run worked out just as I planned it. I am super happy. It's my favorite contest and my favorite face,’ said the premier winner. Second place went to the still reigning Austrian freeride champion Christoph Schöfegger. The Swiss Theo Cheli secured the third place.
In the strong field of snowboarding men, the Tyrolean Clemens Bergmann prevailed. The men from Fieberbrunn (AUT) convinced with a strong line with one frontside and one backside 360 perfectly landed, ‘The competition was madness, the people spread best vibes and the weather was just perfect. Now I am fully motivated for the next season’, said Bergmann. Victor Heim (AUT) took the second place, third went to the German Timm Schröder.
